Bromobutyl rubber plugs have good resistance to cold and aging

What is bromobutyl rubber?

Bromobutyl rubber is derived from the halogenation of butyl rubber with bromine in a continuous process. It is structurally similar to chlorobutyl rubber and is produced by the same halogenation process.

Another thing to know is whether chlorobutyl rubber contains latex.

Plugs made from natural red rubber and plugs made from chlorobutyl-isoprene blends contain natural rubber latex. All other plugs do not contain latex.

What are the uses of polyisobutylene?

Polyisobutylene is a synthetic rubber that is used primarily in the manufacture of tire inner tubes. Other applications include adhesives, pesticides, caulks, sealants, paper and paper pulp, and chewing gum.

Does bromobutyl rubber contain latex?

There are several types of latex allergies. The best way to prevent allergic reactions is to avoid contact with latex altogether. The plugs of the mentioned rubber injection 2 ml and 20 ml vials are made of synthetic bromobutyl rubber and do not contain latex.

Bromobutyl rubber stoppers

Bromobutyl rubber stoppers have good resistance to cold and aging

Bromobutyl rubber (BIIR) is an isobutylene-isoprene copolymer elastomer containing reactive bromine. Since bromobutyl rubber has the saturated backbone of butyl rubber, it has various performance characteristics of butyl polymers, such as higher physical strength, better vibration damping, low permeability, aging resistance and weathering resistance. The invention and use of halobutyl rubber innerliners has led to modern radial tires in many ways. The use of such polymers in tire innerliner compounds can improve pressure retention, adhesion between the innerliner and the carcass and tire durability.

Scrap rubber has good overall performance and is widely used. The main ones are:

① Natural rubber. Made from the latex of the rubber tree, the basic chemical composition is cis-polyisoprene. Good elasticity, high strength, good overall performance.

② Isoprene rubber. The full name is cis-1,4-polyisoprene Rubber. highly cis synthetic rubber made from isoprene is also called synthetic natural rubber, because its structure and properties are similar to natural rubber.

③ Styrene Butadiene Rubber. Abbreviated as SBR, it is made of butadiene and styrene copolymer. According to the production method, it is divided into emulsion polymerized styrene butadiene rubber and solution polymerized styrene butadiene rubber. Its comprehensive performance and chemical stability is good.

④ cis-butyl rubber. The full name is cis-1,4-polybutadiene Rubber, abbreviated as BR, made by the polymerization of butadiene. Compared with other general-purpose rubber, vulcanized butadiene rubber has particularly excellent cold resistance, wear resistance and elasticity, less heat under dynamic load, good aging resistance, easy to use with natural rubber, chloroprene rubber, nitrile rubber, etc.
